PORSCHE GT4 PPF

PORSCHE GT4 PPF

Porsche Paint Protection Film Porsche Cayman GT4 – Front End Paint Protective Film What do you call a Cayman that handles better than a 911? A GT4. The 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 is a hard car to explain, mainly because the regular Cayman, Cayman S and GTS are already some of the best handling cars for the money. To consider the difference between, well, any Cayman and the GT4 is like comparing your high school crush to Jennifer Lawrence: you’d be happy with either, but… you know what I mean? Around the fast-paced and lively track that is Philip Island, we went through the entire Cayman range, ending up in a $189,900 GT4 at the very end to find out just how good the latest car from Porsche’s motorsport division is. Powered by the now superseded but still monstrous Carrera S 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine (with different induction manifold and injectors) that produces 283kW of power and 420Nm of torque, the GT4 can do 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds. In a further 10.1 seconds, it will hit 200km/h. The car is the first road-going mid-engined car from Porsche to wear a GT motorsport badge. That is really saying something, and it’s a boost of confidence for how far the second-generation Cayman has come since the original first hit the market in 2006. The GT4 is available with a six-speed manual gearbox only and, while it’s about 0.1 of a second slower to 100km/h than the Carrera S, it’s almost in a different league when it comes to mechanical grip. While Porsche is adamant that it’s not just a collection of random bits stuck together, the GT4 certainly shares a reasonable number of parts with the hero GT3 car, such as a great deal of the front end in terms of suspension and brakes, as well as the steering and ABS systems. This is excellent news, because the GT3 is an amazing machine. Nonetheless, there’s more to the Cayman GT4 that is unique to itself than there isn’t. Its manual-only availability certainly hasn’t deterred any buyers either, of which there are already over 140 in Australia (roughly 50 percent more than the current Australian allocation). When we were contacted about protecting the track-ready Porsche Cayman GT4, we didn’t hesitate to jump in...

ULTIMATE F-TYPE JAG

ULTIMATE F-TYPE JAG

F-Type Jaguar Full Correction & Opticoat 9H Pro 5.0 LITRE V8 364 kW SUPERCHARGED PETROL   The Ultimate Detailer – Car Detailing Melbourne announces this 364 kW 5.0 V8 is supremely powerful. A larger supercharger feeds the engine to deliver an astonishing peak torque of 625Nm from just 2,500rpm. Acceleration is rapid and progressive, response is immediate and predictable. Spray-guided direct injection delivers precisely measured quantities of fuel directly into the centre of the combustion chambers at pressures of up to 150bar for cleaner, more efficient combustion. The Intelligent Stop/Start system can improve fuel economy by up to 5 percent by switching off the engine when the vehicle comes to a standstill, we were delighted to have this in our Car Detailing Melbourne Portfolio. Acceleration: 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds  Top Speed: 300km/h  CO2 Emissions: 259g/km Out Comes the Rupes Polishing system Prior to Coating It comes to us screamming for attention, as its dealership delivers a poor delivery, with swirl marks and scratches evident all over the exterior paintwork, it was in need of some Ultimate Attention. Massive wash down on the exterior surface, clay bar treatment especially on the rear end, as the exhaust pipes flog out massive tar spots that are now embedded on the rear bumpers. Scratch and swirl marks are all evident as the car is blown dry, and we can now officially see how bad the Jaguar was delivered. Masked off specified areas, lighting and tripods set up, and out comes my trolley and a range of polishes, pads and machines are ready to get to work.  Spread over a period of 2 days, the Jaguar received a full Correction to the Paintwork, light wet sanding to some deeper scratches, and polishing for some 12 hours over 2 days had the paintwork come up perfectly and jewellin” to some massive perfection levels. The Jaguar was then inspected and wash down again, and a IPA fluid was then applied to the exterior to ensure the clear coat was rid of any oils and residue from the polishing. Opticoat 9H Pro was applied to the exterior surface & wheels which was done on the 2nd day....

ULTIMATE LAMBO OPTICOAT

ULTIMATE LAMBO OPTICOAT

Car Detailing Melbourne Lamborghini Gallardo Full Correction & Opticoat 9H Pro This Lamborghini was in need of some serious Paint correction or the full exterior detail. Heavy swirl marks were evident as regular local car washes scratched the paintwork over a period of time, hence the gloss levels were low. Paintwork measured roughly 140 microns to 190 and the whole correction was spread over 4 days. The start of the detail was a massive double foam gun lance, citrus degreaser was sprayed all over the intricate exterior bits and pieces from front guards, wheels, cracks and crevices and in the front air dams of the front bumper. Out came my swissvax brushes to agitate the dirty and stained oxidised areas around the badges. As i waited for the citrus degreaser o do its action, i filled up my foam gun lance with some serious ph neutral formulated shampoo, and foamed the whole exterior, and i was massively generous with the foam gun stage, as i double foam gunned this Lambo.. as it was maybe my last one i would ever detail for a long, long time. Its not how many Lamborghini’s you detail, but its the question you ask yourself…. if the situation came about, were you fit enough and experienced enough to handle such a beautiful weapon. Ready i was, and anticipation was the key as this machine was booked up in advanced, had all types of pads, polishes, and all the bits and pieces a Pro Detailer would have ready… After the massive wash down, rub down with 3M clay bar as i thought my older clay prep towels generally mar the paintwork, i thought id do the honours of the traditional methods of the old lube and clay by hand method, and did i pick up contaminants, i sure did, massive amounts of tar and roughness around the front wheel arches. Wheels were also clay barred and wheel dollies were a extension of my arm as it extended the clean inside to the Rims. After a massive wash, and detailed wash of all the exterior, I Air-Dried the car, and chamois down the exterior...

ULTIMATE 3 COUPE

ULTIMATE 3 COUPE

BMW 3 SERIES COUPE   A 2006 BMW Coupe showing every single defect possible. Heavy Swirl marks, calcium spots & watermarks and just general abuse or poor washing techniques. Imported from the Owner, this Car was in need of some serious detailing involving a Permanent Cut & Polish (Paint Correction.) Paint Correction is another form of Cut & Polishing but involving the clear coat being levelled down to surrounding area so that it is removed permanently. Clear coat thickness or paint clear coat is properly measured to ensure levels of clear coat are sufficiently taken down or in other words, sufficient amounts of clear coat is only levelled down and nothing more. Every part of the exterior was cleaned properly with intricate areas and hard to reach places were sprayed with Ph Neutral Citrus degreasers, brushed with swissvax brushes. After Paintwork correction, the paintwork was then Sealed with Opticoat Pro. Enjoy the Highlights of this Album.       Daniel Tran on...
