              Car Detailing Melbourne Lamborghini Gallardo Full Correction & Opticoat 9H Pro This Lamborghini was in need of some serious Paint correction or the full exterior detail. Heavy swirl marks were evident as regular local car washes scratched the paintwork over a period of time, hence the gloss levels were low. Paintwork measured roughly 140 microns to 190 and the whole correction was spread over 4 days. The start of the detail was a massive double foam gun lance, citrus degreaser was sprayed all over the intricate exterior bits and pieces from front guards, wheels, cracks and crevices and in the front air dams of the front bumper. Out came my swissvax brushes to agitate the dirty and stained oxidised areas around the badges. As i waited for the citrus degreaser o do its action, i filled up my foam gun lance with some serious ph neutral formulated shampoo, and foamed the whole exterior, and i was massively generous with the foam gun stage, as i double foam gunned this Lambo.. as it was maybe my last one i would ever detail for a long, long time. Its not how many Lamborghini’s you detail, but its the question you ask yourself…. if the situation came about, were you fit enough and experienced enough to handle such a beautiful weapon. Ready i was, and anticipation was the key as this machine was booked up in advanced, had all types of pads, polishes, and all the bits and pieces a Pro Detailer would have ready… After the massive wash down, rub down with 3M clay bar as i thought my older clay prep towels generally mar the paintwork, i thought id do the honours of the traditional methods of the old lube and clay by hand method, and did i pick up contaminants, i sure did, massive amounts of tar and roughness around the front wheel arches. Wheels were also clay barred and wheel dollies were a extension of my arm as it extended the clean inside to the Rims. After a massive wash, and detailed wash of all the exterior, I Air-Dried the car, and chamois down the exterior...

            BMW 3 SERIES COUPE   A 2006 BMW Coupe showing every single defect possible. Heavy Swirl marks, calcium spots & watermarks and just general abuse or poor washing techniques. Imported from the Owner, this Car was in need of some serious detailing involving a Permanent Cut & Polish (Paint Correction.) Paint Correction is another form of Cut & Polishing but involving the clear coat being levelled down to surrounding area so that it is removed permanently. Clear coat thickness or paint clear coat is properly measured to ensure levels of clear coat are sufficiently taken down or in other words, sufficient amounts of clear coat is only levelled down and nothing more. Every part of the exterior was cleaned properly with intricate areas and hard to reach places were sprayed with Ph Neutral Citrus degreasers, brushed with swissvax brushes.           AUDI S5 Audi S5 Detail was a tough clear coat from what I remembered. Slight swirl marks were evident from poor washing techniques adapted from a local car wash place that claims they were looking after this client of mine. At $35.00 a wash, all i would predict would be heavy degreasers, cheap & nasty washing, that would over see the speed of this wash. Wheels and paintwork would be sharing the same cloth, towel or mitt, buckets would be contaminated from previous cars etc etc. The paintwork was rough and much overspray was evident. Oh Neutral wash followed by a clay bar, prepped the surface before air drying down, and bringing inside into my Mates Mechanical Workshop, Prestige Auto Works. Thanks to the plenty room available at the workshop, we were happy to carry out the paint correction. After the paintwork was permanently corrected, we then coated the paintwork with a couple of layers of a double auto wax of Collonite 476s Wax, a durable coating of wax that guarantees to stay on the paintwork for at least a year, and best of all its detergent proof.           HSV MALOO UTE Brand New HSV Maloo Ute. We had plenty of room in garage. Van Was reversed and lights were set up adequately. First came the Full Wash and decontamination of paintwork making sure all manufacturer glaze and silicone was removed. PolishAngel products were used in this detail from Glissante Wash & 9H Invincible Primer before the Opticoat Pro. A lot of spot polishing was applied to paintwork to remove light dealership scratches and so on. Finally IPA fluid was applied to all paintwork to make sure all oils and residue were removed from paintwork and sufficiently not sitting in paintwork to cover minor swirls and scratches.             MERCEDES AMG C63 Spread over 2/3 days. We were lucky enough by the owner to use his warehouse parking spot in Richmond. From the inspection, the paintwork had severe amounts of swirl marks and calcium spots. Washed regularly at the local hand car wash, This fine example of the Mercedes C63 AMG tuned by BRABUS was in need of some attention. The Whole car was washed with 3 x Foam Cannon Guns just to really agitate all the dirt particles… it was then washed with swirl safe mittens, even though there was evident signs of swirl marks, we didn’t want to wash all the bonded particles all over the paintwork. After the wash, clay bar was applied to prep the surface and remove all the bonded particles, iron particles, ceramic brake particles, and also overspray. The car was then air dried down, dried and masked up. Lighting was set up to illuminate the panels of all the defects, and again, swirl marks, watermarks, calcium spots were strongly appearing after a lot of car wash silicone or wax was removed. We masked up the car and started polishing the paintwork, levelling down the clear coat of all the defects. Paint depth gauge showed average amounts of about 150 microns of paintwork. The clear coat was tough, but with rupes and CCS pads combined with rotary by flex and rupes pads, we used these with scholl polishes which are non silicone based. What your trying to achieve is, a permanent level down of the clear coat, down to the defect level, rather then trying to assume, your taking away the defects, your actually levelling down the surrounding area of clear, if that makes sense. After the exterior was corrected. We then started polishing chrome tips on exhaust pipes, detailing around the intricate areas of the badges, grills and also rejuvenating rubber seals and plastics. Pillars of the exterior were also corrected, removing light scratches and swirl marks. Wheels were also detailed with swissvax brushes, IPA fluid or rubbing alcohol mixed down, was then applied all of the cars paintwork and wheels to ensure all residue and polish oils were removed...
